Crazy Mansion: an alternate take on the MM universe
A few days ago I've heard about Crazy Mansion, another project with a crowdfunding campaign. It's very heavily inspired by both Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle, but it doesn't use any copyrighted things from those games. Instead, it's a completely different story set in the same universe. It's created by Desperate Studios team, who created their first games in the days of C64 and Amiga. Re: Crazy Mansion: an alternate take on the MM universe
Hi Cyrus,
we have been recently discussing this project in a general topic about crowd-funding-projects. In short: We are quite skeptical. The project leader, antimort, has been active in our community several years ago, talking about the same project. I'm a bit impressed that he is still following his ideas, but I'm afraid that the humor of the game wouldn't be something I like. I'm also a bit shocked by the huge quality differences in the graphics shown in the project video.

Re: Crazy Mansion: an alternate take on the MM universe
On their page they say that they are still in need of graphic artists because they have to do a lot of artwork. Therefore I believe the low-quality sketches are yet to be improved and recolored.
