Differences to LucasArts classics
In terms of gameplay and puzzle design, do you try to be absolutely faithful to the classic games or are there aspects of those titles that you don't like and try to fix in Thimbleweed?

Re: Differences to LucasArts classics
We're going to follow the classic design from the LucasArts adventures, but more in line with Monkey Island. We learned a lot from Maniac Mansion to Monkey Island.

As far as graphics development we want to create a look that reminds you of how those classic games were,
but we will take some liberties based on having more memory, etc. to create more ambience

what exactly and how is your development process aligned, do you plan all things carefully before you start, or with an rough plan and then see how and where the things are going?grumpygamer hat geschrieben:We're going to follow the classic design from the LucasArts adventures, but more in line with Monkey Island. I'd love to see some effects like rain or mist. That would be cool!GaryWinnick hat geschrieben:As far as graphics development we want to create a look that reminds you of how those classic games were,

Re: Differences to LucasArts classics
We like to plan he design out using puzzle dependency charts...

---but we also change a lot as we're in development. You really have to play an adventure game to see if everything is working, plus we just come up with new funny ideas and we like to have the freedom to put them in the game.

Re: Differences to LucasArts classics
Thanks Ron and Gary, "more in line with Monkey Island" sounds good to me.
