National Treasure: The Book of Secrets
Muahahahahaaa! Klingt wie Harry Potter für Arme (oder arme Indy-Fans)

The subtitle refers to the 18 pages which are actually missing from John Wilkes Booth's (who assassinated Abraham Lincoln) library.
Jon Turteltaub directs and Jerry Bruckheimer executive produces again. "The Book of Secrets" is expected to star Nicolas Cage, Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel. It is targeted for a December 21, 2007 release.

Harrison Ford - 'No' to Star Wars , 'Yes' to Indiana Jones
- He told George Lucas he couldn't face being stuck in spaceship with Chebacca
Harrison Ford turned down a UKP20 million pay day to make a new spin-off Star Wars movie.
Hollywood legend Ford, 64, snubbed director George Lucas' big bucks offer in favour of playing heroic archaeologist Indiana Jones again.
However, Lucas wasn't too disappointed with Ford's decision as he was already developing an idea for a fourth Indiana Jones movie with Steven Spielberg.
A source told the Daily Star: "George wanted Harrison to play Indy but cleverly sounded him out about playing Han Solo instead.
"Harrison was horrified. After that he was delighted to be playing Indy again. He told George he just couldn't face being stuck in a spaceship with
Chewbacca again."
Ford will still receive UKP20 million for donning his famous fedora hat once again and embarking on a final adventure as the whip-cracking character.
Ford and Lucas announced that they were making a fourth Indiana Jones film earlier this month.
The movie, which Lucas will produce and Spielberg will direct, is due to be released in 2008, 19 years after Ford last appeared as thrill-seeking Indy in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Noch was, Quelle grad vergessen:
Although screenwriter David Koepp jokes that the Dreamworks secret police will track him down if he reveals anything about the upcoming sequel Indiana Jones 4, he was able during a recent interview with FilmStew to drop a few pebble-sized hints. “I spent about a year on it, first doing drafts with Steven and then doing drafts with Steven and George,” he explains. “It was a lot of fun. The first thing is that you realize this is a beloved character, probably one of the most in film history, and a lot of people are going to be angry no matter what I do.” “I’m going to get my *ss handed to me on some level, even by my fellow filmmakers or the audience,” Koepp continues. “So you just accept all that and go and do the best thing you can with as much love as you can. I worked with Steven a number of times but never with both of them [Spielberg, Lucas]. They’re big guys with big opinions and it’s definitely a challenge, but a challenge worth stepping up to.” Koepp agrees that it would be crazy not to take into account star Harrison Ford’s real age for this next installment. In fact, he suggests that if it were not in the script, Ford would likely insist on references to this being added. Koepp himself was 18-years-old when Raiders of the Lost Ark first hit theaters back in 1981 and, ironically enough, says that’s the movie that made him want to become a screenwriter.
“This one was hard, because there’s the wait of expectation which I felt also on Spider-Man,” Koepp reveals. “At the time, that had been a comic for 35 years, so there’s a big audience out there for it and it’s beloved.” “People have a lot of preconceptions about what it ought to be and that’s the same kind of pressure you feel with Indiana Jones,” he continues. “It’s hard to write when you feel the audience looking over your shoulder, but you just try and put it out of your mind.” As much as he is a fan of Indy lore, Koepp says it’s essential to discard that point of view when tapping out further adventures. “You can’t write a fan script,” he insists. “You have to pretend that this movie exists without the other one.” “The worst thing to do would be to have him make reference to things he said in the first movie, like to pun on lines of dialogue,” he argues. “That’s tempting, because you’ve seen the movie a hundred times and you know all the dialogue, but no human being remembers exactly what they said 25 years ago word for word, much less make reference to it. So you try to put aside the other movies and yet be in the spirit of them.” If you’re going to work as a screenwriter in independent film, this is pretty much the best way to go. As Koepp points out, because Lucasfilm is underwriting Indiana Jones 4, the project is technically an indie (or is that "Indy?"). And pray tell, will this indie start with a gigantic set piece? “Now, how would that not be telling you what happened in the movie?” Koepp teases. “I’m not going to tell you what happens. But with set pieces, sometimes it’s common sense and sometimes it’s a bad idea.”

Everyone's favorite retriever of lost antiquities will dust off his familiar leather hat and once again don the whip that made him famous in a fourth entry to the classic Indiana Jones series.
This month, representatives from Paramount Pictures and Steven Spielberg confirmed that a fourth Indiana Jones movie is indeed in the works. A script written by David Koepp was approved by Spielberg, George Lucas, and Harrison Ford, signaling the green light for production, which will begin this June in locations around the world.
While little has been revealed relating to the plot of the upcoming film, bits and pieces gathered from interviews with members of the Jones' team have shed light on some aspects of the movie. Fans of the series should expect something completely different, according to Spielberg. The new Indiana Jones will follow the trend of recent films like Casino Royale, being primarily a character piece. It appears that this film will delve into the personal affairs of Dr. Jones more deeply than ever before.
Michelle Yeoh, a star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha, may fill the role of Indy's love interest in the upcoming movie. Spielberg reportedly approached her on the set of Memoirs with an offer for a part. In an interview with IGN Film Force, Producer Frank Marshall revealed that Indy IV will take place in the late 1940s, 10 to 12 years after the events of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The setting is currently unknown; however, it has been confirmed that the movie will be filmed live on location rather than digitally on a green screen. This may come as a surprise to moviegoers who have grown accustomed to digitalized epics which have dominated the entertainment scene in recent years.
Elements of the supernatural will once again be featured in the plot of Indy IV. This element will likely take the form of some object of desire, or "MacGuffin," a cinematic term coined by Alfred Hitchcock. This object serves to advance the plot of the film. Past MacGuffins include the biblical Ark of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Holy Grail in The Last Crusade. The MacGuffin in Indy IV was originally rejected due to its overly-controversial nature, however, as George Lucas told Empire Magazine, the object was eventually accepted by all parties.
Concerning the return of past characters, it appears that Indy's father, Henry Jones Sr., will appear in the movie, however, it is unknown whether the 75 year old Sean Connery will reprise that role. What is also unclear is the role Harrison Ford will play in the upcoming film. Obviously, he is Indiana Jones; however, the speculation surrounds whether he will be the main character, or if a younger Indy will take his place as the protagonist for the majority of the film. Possibilities include Sean Patrick Flannery, who played Young Indiana Jones in "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles", a TV series of the 1990s. The deceased River Phoenix originally played the part of young Indiana during the opening scene of The Last Crusade due to his resemblance to a teenage Harrison Ford. Ford himself appears to be more than capable of outrunning a giant boulder, even at age 64, as he proved with his physical performance in the 2006 thriller Firewall. The fourth installment in the Indiana Jones series is expected to hit theatres in May 2008 around the same time as the Chronicles of Narnia sequel and Iron Man. Fans of the series are expecting another instant-classic. If there's one thing for sure, this latest iteration is in good hands, and come this May, Dr. Jones may once again take the world by storm or, in true Jones-fashion, with the crack of his whip.
moviehole.net hat geschrieben:Probably about as likely to happen as George Clooney sitting down for a nice hot-cooked plate of pot-bellied pig, but nevertheless interesting news from JoBlo.com on who might be joining Harrison Ford and Sean Connery for “Indiana Jones 4”.
Get out your chequebooks Paramount, because Steven Spielberg apparently wants his “Flags of Our Fathers” collaborator, Clint Eastwood, to play a role in the blockbuster sequel.
Yep, Dirty Harry, 007 and Han Solo… all in the one movie. Anyone else need a blow-dryer and new pair of boxers?
Yeah. Well. Um. Can’t see that one coming of… but ya never know. And, well, it would be adequate payment for us fans that have waited so long for the “Indy” film, wouldn’t it?
How terrific would it be to see Eastwood sharing the screen with Connery? Maybe Eastwood could play a fellow archaeologist? Maybe Indy’s brother? (There were, after all, rumours in the 90s that Indy’s brother appeared in one of the earlier versions of the script), or, perhaps, a bad guy?
It’ll probably take some cash to pull it off, but I’m sure Spielberg and Lucas could round up a few bucks for Eastwood if they really wanted to. The question, more likely, will be ‘Does Eastwood wanna play second fiddle to Indiana Jones?’
monstersandcritics.com hat geschrieben:The missing link to the Indiana Jones franchise, Sean Connery, has confirmed he is considering returning to play Indy's dad again in the upcoming sequel.
Sean Connery has told Scotland on Sunday that he is considering returning as Dr. Henry Jones in the eagerly anticipated Indiana Jones 4. He previously played Indiana Jones' father in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade back in 1989.
Now that David Koepp's script has been met with approval by the three poobahs of the Indy franchise, Spielberg, Ford and Lucas, Indy is due to shoot beginning this June, and after being lobbied hard by Lucas, Connery admits he is seriously considering it.
When Scotland on Sunday asked him point blank, if he would give it a go, Connery said,: "Perhaps."
Cagey Connery added: "At the moment there's nothing decided. I haven't got the script. Everything depends on the script." Scribe virtuoso David Koepp wrote it-and it passed muster with three of the pickiest people in Hollywood.
