What about Zed, Bred, Led?
You might find it funny to caricature your workmates, but I don't think many others will, because that scenario is bound to produce a lot of inside jokes.
Of course it's easier to use existing personalities for your additional characters, but why don't you use celebrities or well-known movie characters instead?
The original Edisons are all stereotypes, there's the horny nurse, the crazy mastermind, the paramilitary nut, and so on.
Extend that by including a dumb hill-billy, a bodybilder who is insecure about the size of his wang, etc. etc.
And please keep in mind that your game has to be VERY good if you don't want to piss of all the MM-fans out there.
This is your first game, and you're new to AGS, and you've already made pretty much all of the usual beginner's mistakes. (announcing the game before you even started, planning to create a superior version of an existing game with many fans although you have no experience at all, neither with AGS let alone the starter pack, nor with programming or designing a game, showing off graphics pasted hastily together wanting to wow everybody but failing at it)
It's no wonder that there are people who put you down.
