Yay, I finished the game in about 2-3 hours (did not really stop the time).
It's a reference avalanche right from the beginning! And to be honest, it's recommended for those who those children of the 80s and early 90s.
The graphics are original graphics from the old games so I can't complain for the most part, here and there new arranged and with new elements. In some occasions there are a few elements that don't fit together (for example the axe in the inventory has a different resolution).
The character graphics are lovely and they are lovely animated, as if they were from that period.
Some of the music is epic, because it's BTTF, Stargate and Ghostbusters!!! In contrast some scenes were too quiet.
I enjoyed all the different locations, all the places I could now go to which were in old games not reachable.
I especially enjoyed the story. BTTF interwoven with Monkey Island is a very good fit. I also think that you gonna have a hard time playing this game if you don't know either of the two universes.
Same thing for the puzzles. If you don't know the compass puzzle from MI3 and you don't get a hint, then it's a hard puzzle.
The order of some actions were a bit confusing. I thought I missed something, but in fact I had all the ingredients for the oxygen tank. I just didn't put it together in correct order. Sometimes I whished I could get more feedback instead of a "no" or silence.
Also confusing was that sometimes you had to "use" exit doors, sometimes you had to "go to" exit doors.
Also the swordmastress sent me to find the voodoo lady, I could not find her. (Maybe I triggered something wrong, I found the voodoo "telephone statue" after I returned from Mars)
I didn't get the purpose of Marty himself being observable, often times he was standing in the way.
But all the criticism aside, I had a hoverboard! And I used it a lot!
And now I'm waiting for the actual meeting of Marty and Guybrush.
I hope that the "To be continued" was no joke and that you are working hard on the second part!
So everyone who hasn't played it yet, go play!
