Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
Can someone tell me please if the 2010 German keepcase release of this had an English language playing option on the disk when installed?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
Heya Andøya,
i just checked: The keepcase release of (the wonderful!) Puzzle Agent from Telltale Games is actually from 2011,
but it sadly has no option for english language:
But as a friendly hint: Go buy the Grickle comics - they are brillant

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
Maybe I remeber it incorrectly but I thought Puzzle Agent was an English-only game, wasn't it?
Is there a German version? Text-wise?

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
According to amazon screenshots, there is a horrible German version: https://www.amazon.de/Astragon-31301-Pu ... B004GHVYRG but at least in one review someone complains it's English only.
The version you can get on steam is English only. I just had a look, liked the visual style but not the gameplay.

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
Found someone playing the German localized version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvbr40NiVbM
So Text in German, yes.
Guess this is the physical release of astragon Software.
So question still would be if you can switch it completely to English.
If not via ingame settings maybe with system settings set to English or so..

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
The game settings for the steam version (.vdf file) look like this:
{
"Distribution" "Telltale"
"Franchise" "Grickle100"
"Install Location" "%INSTALLDIR%\\"
"Language" "english"
"LanguageID" "1033"
"Language ID" "1033"
"Manual" "Manual.pdf"
"ReadMe" "Readme.txt"
"SaveGameFolderName" "The Mystery of Scoggins"
"Version" "1.0.0.0"
}
So you could try setting the language to english if it says german there, if you have bought the game already anyway.
For the steam version, setting this to german (so trying the other way around) definitely doesn't work, but they don't promise anything on their store page anyway, so it's fine for me.
Maybe you would also need to know the correct language ID though, but if you want to have it in English, you could try mine. I don't know what the german one says, maybe mudge can tell.

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
This is what I have been looking at. No indication of English on the disk version. https://www.mobygames.com/game/47191/ne ... zle-agent/
It's specifically that version I want to know about.

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
I don't get what a language ID is, actually.
My box version has a *2011* printed on the... paper inlet and the CD-ROM itself.
I would always *just* check the options if i can change language and stuff.
As for more complicated, possible "workarounds" i'm as out as too lazy.
EAN for this is: 4041417313013. I apologise, if i can't be more helpful now.
But do try to get the game and the comics - Graham Annable is doing great art

Re: Nelson Tethers: Puzzle.Agent
I just found an entry named language ID in my game settings. I didn't even think about if it's some standard you could look up outside the game, because it might be something the devs just used internally.
But then I looked it up, and it actually looks like a standard language code!
Here: https://wiki.freepascal.org/Language_Codes
My "english" code (1033) is the LCID Decimal code for English - United States.
So in your game settings file (not the menu!) it probably says 1031 for German - Germany.
Since the mentioned version on mobygames has been published by Astragon, I guess it's the same I looked up on amazon.
Changing it to "german" and 1031 as ID doesn't change anything for me in the game though, so I guess it wouldn't help either to do it the other way around when you have the german version, unfortunately.
