I'd like to take the chance to thank Theo again for the entertaining promotion and giving me the chance to get introduced to The Journey Down universe. I went straight ahead and bought the second chapter.
Thank god I didn't play earlier, because I'm not into episodic storytelling very much and the cliffhanger at the end of episode one is really bad. I loved the art style, though I found the bulky character desgin something I head to get used to. In the beginning I was afraid, this could be a weak spot regarding facial expressions - turned out it wasn't. Even my constant question of why the hell Bwana had a clover on his forehead was kind of satisfyingly answered after having finished the game (or is there more to it, do you have any inside information for me with this, theo?).
Another thing I wondered before I had played the game was the impression from the screenshots I got, those 3D figueres would never blend with them handdrawn backgrounds. This worked out surprisingly well, too (at least in my humble opinion).
I had a smooth playthrough, found the puzzles just right for me. Loved the one with the crane

The story just scratched a surface for my taste, but teasered a lot more to come. Who and where is Kaonandodo (what a name, how did you come up with this?), what's up with the underland and are there really monsters? Will Bwana and Lina fall in love? I'm eager to play on.
The voice acting and the music where far above average, I so much digged this! Only cast I didn't like was whoever spoke Makena. She sounded thin and blonde, quite the opposite from what was on screen (no offense, Makena)

Over all I loved this little gem. As I already wrote in the adventuregamers forum: Can’t remember the last time when I had so much fun with an adventure game. Never got bored while playing, it’s all fun and laughter. Soul and love are oozing out of every single little detail in this game. I’m loving it!
Hope we don't have to wait all too long for the next episode. Good luck with your game, Theo and Skygoblin!
